We are pleased to announce that Lightfoots Solicitors has become a Rainbow Champion of Oxford Pride.
The events supporting, or arranged by, Oxford Pride promote awareness of LGBTQI+ issues and lifestyles by providing information, education and entertainment in a safe and encouraging environment. Oxford Pride is a registered charity run by a dedicated team of volunteers, with membership open to all.
As a law firm it is our duty to behave ethically and we regularly fight for justice and equality for our clients. Equality, diversity and inclusion is important in everything we do and we are committed to treating everyone fairly and with respect. We know that, sadly, the wider world is not always fair and that discrimination still exists. Many of our clients and employees will have experienced discrimination in their life simply because of their race, religious beliefs, gender, age, sexuality or disability. This is not okay and we are committed to working together to make our society a fairer, safer and compassionate place for everyone.
Oxford Pride is an important event that celebrates the LGBTQI+ community, brings people together and shows solidarity. Pride is about overcoming prejudice and hatred, reducing isolation and showing members of the LGBTQI+ community that they are not alone. Pride is a way for the community to be seen, to have their voices heard and, vitally, to be together as one voice to continue to campaign for equity and justice in the UK and globally.
This week sees the start of the Oxford Pride Festival, the highlight of which is Pride Day on Saturday 3rd June 2023, with this year marking the 20th anniversary.
