Lightfoots Solicitors has acquired Rachel Stafford Legal Services, the Thame based solicitors’ firm, with effect from 30th September 2026.
Rachel Stafford Legal Services was founded by Rachel Stafford in 2015 and has helped families across Thame and the surrounding areas record their wishes and plan for the future. Rachel is retiring on completion to spend more time with her family. Carol Barnes, of Rachel Stafford Legal Services, joins our Wills & Probate team in our Thame High Street office and will continue to work with clients she has advised for years.
Rachel Stafford Legal Services clients do not need to take any action. Wills held in storage transfer to Lightfoots’ secure storage, and every existing and former client is being contacted directly.
Rachel Stafford said: ” Thank you to every client who trusted me over the years. I wanted to hand this work to a firm that is local, established, and shares the way I have tried to look after people. Lightfoots Solicitors has been in Thame since 1853, and I am confident you will be very well looked after. I have been fortunate to do this work in the town I live in, for people I see in the street. I did not want to simply close the door. Lightfoots understand what this work means to families, and I know my clients are in good hands.”

The acquisition strengthens Lightfoots Solicitors Wills & Probate team, which advises on wills, lasting powers of attorney, estate planning, trusts and probate, alongside the firm’s Commercial Property, Agricultural, Lender Finance and Conveyancing teams.
