Stephen qualified as a Lawyer and was called to the Bar in 1992 following a 12-year career as a Chartered Civil Engineer. He practised at the Bar for a further 12 years before joining Lightfoots in 2004 as our In-house Barrister, providing specialist Civil Litigation advice to our various departments.
Whilst practising at the Bar Stephen appeared regularly in courts of first instance, the High Court and the Court of Appeal, as well as specialist courts such as the Technology and Construction Court. He undertakes all aspects of Civil Litigation but in particular he provides specialist litigation advice to our various diverse and unique legal departments, including professional negligence, property related law & property management, consumer credit & lending, debt recovery & insolvency, construction law and contentious probate. Stephen is able to bring the expertise gained in Civil Engineering to good effect in areas such as professional negligence, property disputes and construction law. He is also able to utilise the analytical skills acquired in construction and at the Bar in complex regulatory areas of law such as consumer credit and insolvency.
Stephen is a member of Middle Temple and TECBAR - the Bar's society of construction lawyers.
