Petrova studied Law at the University of Wolverhampton and went on to complete a Masters in Law at University College London before undertaking her Legal Practice Course. She qualified in 2007 and on qualification worked for a leading Thames Valley firm for five years followed by an award winning London firm. After a brief spell out of law diversifying her knowledge and experience in other areas of work, as well as developing her transferrable skills she was delighted to return to matrimonial practice in 2016 when she joined Lightfoots. She has built up considerable experience dealing with matters following the breakdown of a relationship, whether through marriage or cohabitation. She advises in all areas of family law, including in preparation for marriage, and is praised by former clients for her “excellent” advice, allowing them to feel confident in their rights and responsibilities and their “case has been very safe in [her] hands”.
As a member of Resolution she is committed to adopting a non-confrontational approach, and this is confirmed by client feedback “ I needed a constructive, non-confrontational, but firm approach – which she was”. She has been ranked by leading legal directories Chamber & Partners and Legal 500.
